- *Abstract

Many diagnostic approaches comprising the use of enzymes as recognition elements have been used thus far. These approaches primarily involve the use of electrodes to detect the signal changes. As a result, the approaches are associated with potential limitations such as requirement of a physical connection, rendering them unsuitable for non-invasive or non-contact monitoring. At the same time, the current nano-sensor approaches are limited to detection of ions or small molecules, as they are not suitable for larger/novel targets. The proposed approach comprises the use of a novel nano-sensing system utilizing enzymatic recognitions for various diagnostic applications.
