- *Background
- Thereare many applications for superoleophobic thermoplastic materials, fromprinting to auto body protection. Theprocess of creating the right Re-Entrant patterns in these materials involvesusing a lithography mold to leave microscopic features embedded in their surface. The most widely used method is Micro hotembossing lithography, when a plate to plate mold is introduced to thematerial, leaving the correct patterns when completed. While this technique is effective atproducing the desired nanostructures, it is not very efficient in itsproduction. There is a need to find anapproach to manufacture special surface textures in an easy, high rate,well-controlled, and mass-production manner.Therehave been speculations of possible faster methods than the plate-to-plate, butso far nothing has been brought to market.
