In-Situ Quantification of Catalysts Dissolution in Stirred Spectroelectrochemical Cell
- 详细技术说明
- TECHNOLOGYDESCRIPTION: Researchers at the University of Delaware have come up with a novel newinventions that is an electrochemical cell. This electrochemical cell is to beused for attenuated total reflectance surface enhanced infrared absorptionspectroscopy. The main invention in this new innovation is that the internalreflection element is placed with the reflecting plane oriented vertically, allowing for the addition of a stir-bar into the cell. Liquid phase observationof electrochemical reactions via infrared spectroscopy can take place in thisdesign. This will also minimize many mass transport limitations. PATENT STATUS: This technology is patent pending. Furtherinformation on licensing opportunities is available on request. APPLICATION: This isa potential invention with an internal reflection element which allows for theaddition of a stir bar into an electrochemical cell, along with allowing liquidphase observation of electrochemical reactions via infrared spectroscopy whileminimizing mass transport limitations.PROBLEMS ADDRESSED: Spectro-electrochemical cells are currently used in academic researchgroups all over the world in commercially available accessories for reflectancemeasurements. Although basic spectro-electrochemical cells are used inacademia, no stirred cells currently exist in this field.
