The main contribution of this invention is that a novel filler metal route design is disclosed to produce Functionally Graded Material (FGM) joining Titanium alloy and Stainless Steel. With this design, the various brittle intermetallic phases can be eliminated effectively. Comparing with other reseaerchers' results, this is the first outcome which successfully joining Titanium alloy and Stainless steel without intermetallic phase formed. The fabrication process is laser blown powder deposition.
