*Abstract: Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley have developed a new micro-machined device which measures directly the angle of rotation, in contrast with any conventional micro-machined gyroscope that measures the rate of rotation. Integrated on a single silicon chip, this unique micro-gyroscope is based on inertial properties of elastic waves.
