Novel antibiotics and methods of using the same (SJ-97-0033)

A peptide produced by bacteria has been identified which is capable of killing bacterial cells that have developed resistance to multiple antibiotics, such as penicllin and vancomycin. This peptide was shown to be effective In conjunction with penicillin in killing bacteria cells that have become tolerant of many antibiotics.
