- This invention is a potential biologic therapy for certain cancers. Certain antibodies and peptides can block the tumour-promoting actions of the signal protein Netrin-1.

This invention provides peptides and antibodies which selectively block the cancer-promoting action of Netrin 1 by inhibiting activation of its receptor. This is based on Dr. Stetefeld's discovery that two specific parts of the Netrin 1 V2 subdomiain bind the NEO1/DCC and UNC5h2 receptors. This new understanding was used to design inhibiting peptides and antibodies.
