TechnologyIn addition to bacteriologic eradication, resolution of symptoms is an important goal of antimicrobial therapy in children with Group A Streptococcus pharyngitis (GAS). The inventors have developed a patient-reported outcome measure for assessing symptoms of Streptococcal Pharyngitis (Strep-PRO) from the childΓÇÖs point of view.Applications1. Measure the extent and rapidity with which antimicrobial therapy results in clinically meaningful improvments.2. Can be used as an additional measure of efficacy in clinical trials.3. Facilitates comparisons within and between trials.Advantages1. Scale enables clinicians and researchers to more accurately document improvement in symptoms during treatment.of GAS2.
