A computer processor processes image information by performing image object extraction processing to generate image object descriptions. The generated image object descriptions are processed by object hierarchy construction and extraction. Image object hierarchy descriptions are generated and are processed by entity relation graph generation. Entity relation graph descriptions are generated to represent content embedded within the image information. A data storage system is operatively coupled to the processor, for storing the description records.The method and system provide an efficient content description scheme for generic multimedia information.Description 2: Shih-fu ChangDescription: A Method and system for indexing and summarizing echocardiogram images is described. Video indexing and summarization are also described.The method for processing an echocardiogram video of a patient's heart involves receiving sequences of consecutive video frames and monitoring notable occurrences in each of the sequence of frames. Video frames corresponding to the occurrence of R-wave peak in the electrocardiograph wave in each of the sequences are selected. The transition between the sequences is detected by determining a change in the second occurrence between adjacent video frames. The selected video frames are subsequently summarized.The summarization method provides the user with the necessary tools for efficient access and browsing. The method enables physicians to view the summary of the echo study of a patient in the form of a table of relevant representative frames, instead of a full length of video. Further, the system facilitates physicians in remote location to diagnose based on the representative frames that may show any abnormality.
