*Abstract

Inventors have developed a novel meta-clustering and comparison search tool that synergizes information retrieval, data visualization and knowledge discovery. The tool detects and summarizes similarities and differences by comparing search results for queries related by category/subject, time and location. Furthermore, the system organizes the search results into dynamically formed clusters that accomplish the task of reducing the result space while presenting the user with relevant sub-topics of the query result. Key concepts realized by the invention include emerging trends discovery, theme derivation, hierarchical clustering and comparison of web search results, web snippet quality analysis, and results visualization in Venn diagram.
