*Abstract
Researchers at Nagoya University have developed an effective method to collect and produce large amounts of multipotential stem cells (MSCs) derived from human adipose tissues. These cells were introduced into ischemia disease, renal dysfunction, wound, kidney disorder, and osteoporosis mouse models, where they showed significant improvements of their symptoms. Because bone marrow contains very limited MSCs, using adipose tissues for regenerative medicine is recently getting more attentions. In this invention, MSCs are collected as stromal vascualr fractions (SVF) from adipose tissues by centrifugation. This fraction contains MSCs and other cells, such as endothelial and erythroid cells. Isolated cells are incubated in a lower serum medium with FGF-2 which selectively induce cell growth of MSCs.
