Summary

Devices consisting of both curved mirrors and conventional lenses systems are known as catadioptrics. Catadiopotrics can shorten the overall optical path length and therefore are popular in telescopes and telescopic camera lenses. This invention aims to develop catadioptric systems capable of generating well-focused output image by analyzing multifocal input image data of sets of multifocal input images. The best focused image regions can thus be determined and modeled as annulus. An optimization algorithm is used in the process.
