Protein Acyl Transferase Inhibitor
- 技術優勢
- Promising new cancer treatment, High-throughput screening technique
- 詳細技術說明
- USF scientistsΓÇÖ have developed a method for screening a combinatorial compound library in a way that has resulted in the identification of a compound that inhibits the PATs that modify the Ras oncogene protein. Mutation involving Ras proteins have been estimated to contribute to the pathology of over 30% of all human cancers. Palmitoylation is required for the function of three of the four forms of Ras. Thus an inhibitor of a Ras PAT is a promising new tool designed to inhibit Ras function in cancer cells.
