Sensitively Studying Gene-Gene Interactions Over a Wide Genetic Background

技術優勢
Congenic Strain not requiredSpecific and sensitive model for the study of gene-gene interactionsGenebow label cells with different colors to study adjacent cell interactions
技術應用
gene-gene interaction study
詳細技術說明
Inventors at the University of South Florida developed a technique to expeditiouslygenerate a novel mouse model in which the nine genotypes of two genes are specifically labeled with four different fluorescent proteins in a single mouse, using the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) technique. This model can be crossed with other strains or wild mice. As each genotype will have the other eight genotypes as controls, congenic strain establishment is not required, allowing a rapid (about two months) genetic background switch and the F1 mice can be directly used in study. Therefore, this technique, named ΓÇ£GenebowΓÇØ, can be used to study gene-gene interaction with high sensitivity, specificity due to the elimination of aforementioned variations, and over a wide genetic background required to model human disease gene-gene interactions.
