The proposed invention offers a modular fluid-cooled compact x-ray tube technology. The scope of a typical embodiment ofthis technology is two fold: 1) designing a 2D or 3D imaging system with a single embodiment as an independent x-ray source;2) designing a 2D, 3D, or 4D imaging system with multiple embodiments as a multi-source array of individually addressable xraysources.
