Simplified Detection and Quantification of Infectious Viruses
- 詳細技術說明
- Researchers at Nationwide Children's Hospital have developed a novel method of detection of infectious viruses by engineering proteins to recognize the viral sequence.
- *Abstract
-
Current methods for the detection of infectious viruses rely on Real-time qPCR for the detection of vector genomes that have entered the cells. The methods make it difficult to accurately quantify low numbers of virus because of errors introduced during dilution and preparation of samples for analysis. In addition, the methods do not discriminate between virus entering the cytoplasm versus those infecting the nucleus. Researchers at Nationwide Children's Hospital have developed a novel method of detection of infectious viruses by engineering proteins to recognize the viral sequence.
