The technology utilizes micro-column affinity chromatography, which requires very little chromatography resin material and is compatible with standard lab equipment and sample processing techniques.
Selection of new RNA aptamers for multiple protein targets was successfully demonstrated using the new micro-column device, resulting in a selected bulk library with significantly better binding affinities based on gel-shift assays. Individual aptamers for each target were identified via high-throughput sequencing analysis of the selected libraries. The technology promises to facilitate the development of high throughput and efficient aptamer selection procedures.
