Silica Nanoparticles Incorporating Chemiluminescent and Absorbing Active Organic Molecules

詳細技術說明
Cornell research has led to the development of chemiluminescent silica nanoparticles
*Abstract

Cornell research has led to the development of chemiluminescent silica nanoparticles.  Operating much like a nanoscale version of child's glowstick, the matrix of nanoparticles is able to keep the enclosed dyes from interacting, yet allow the necessary chemical diffusion to allow interaction between high energy molecules and dyes to produce chemiluminescense.  These nanoparticles will be useful for security applications where they can indicate tampering or an intruder, as well as in biological and chemical research where they can act as sensors and probes.
