The silver medal winner at the 2007 American Wine Society Competition, 'Valvin Muscat' is a versatile grape which can be finished as a semi-dry dinner wine or a sweet dessert wine. A hybrid grape resulting from a cross of 'Muscat du Moulin' and 'Muscat Ottonel', 'Valvin Muscat' is moderately winter hardy and well-suited to good grape growing sites in the Eastern United States.
'Valvin Muscat' is recommended for the production of high quality Muscat wines, and is useful as a varietal wine and for blending to add flavor and aroma to table wines. It provides consistently high quality, semi-dry wines with spicy, floral Muscat aromas and no bitterness. The wine is deliciously aromatic with lively floral notes, a hint of sweetness and a beautifully long finish.
