Series of metal-organic bismuth complexes for use as antimicrobial agents. Synthesis is simple, reproducible and high yielding. Resulting complexes are insoluble in both organic and aqueous media and show thermal and hydrolytic stability. Complexes demonstrate good antimicrobial activity; some complexes show significant activity against multi resistant bacterial strains MRSA and VRE.
