University of MissouriOffice of Technology Management & Industry RelationsNon-Confidential Abstract of InventionUM Disclosure No. 16UMC084Direct Laser Synthesis and Patterning of Nanocatalysts for Micro Fluid Fuel CellsThis disclosure discusses a novel technique of one-step synthesis and patterning of nanocatalysts for applications in micro fluid fuel cells. Specifically, molybdenum disulfide, a high lubricity material, is synthesized through a unique method that is both cheap and efficient. Molybdenum sulfide has extensive uses in any low-friction environment and as a catalyst for desulfurization in petrochemistry.POTENTIAL AREAS OF APPLICATIONS:• Low-friction Environments• Catalyst for Desulfurization in Petrochemistry• Electrochemically Convert CH4 to Liquid FuelsMAIN ADVANTAGES OF INVENTION:• Cost Efficient Synthesis of Molybdenum DisulfideSTATE OF DEVELOPMENT:• Patent Application in Work LICENSING POTENTIAL:• University seeks licensee with the potential to commercializeINVENTOR(S):• Jian Lin• Heng Deng• Chi ZhangCONTACT INFO: Office of Technology Management & Industry Relations Brett Maland, J.D.
