Synthesis of 2-Amino Muramyl Dipeptide Derivatives
- 詳細技術說明
- Muramyl dipeptide (MDP) is a peptidoglycan constituent of both the Gram-positive andGram-negative bacteria. This compound is composed of one carbohydrate, N-acetyl-muramic acidand two amino acids and is the smallest immunological active fragment of thebacterial cell wall. The mechanism of action of MDP has not been fully elucidated. Also since bacteria have the ability to modulate theiractivity to a human response by altering the functionality of the 2-postion ofthe MDP carbohydrate, the study of the mode of action of MDP has become morechallenging. The inventive concept here can bedescribed as an efficient and high-yielding method for the production of MDPand 2-amino derivatives of MDP. This process can also be used for thepreparation of isotopic labeled versions of MDP which are highly applicable inbiological studies.
