Disclosedare akit and method for diagnosing cancer, each of which utilizes a polynucleotide comprising the nucleotide sequence depicted in SEQ ID No: 1 or 3 or apartial sequence thereof, a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequencedepicted in SEQ ID No: 2 or 4 or a partial sequence thereof, or an antibody capableof binding specifically to a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequencedepicted in SEQ ID No: 2 or 4 or a partial sequence thereof. It becomes possibleto find a CT antigen useful for detection, diagnosis, or treatment of cancer occurringin a digestive organ, and to develop a novel cancer diagnostic technique utilizingthe CT antigen.
