Adiagnostic agent to be sprayed onto the inner wall of a digestive organ in aninspection through an endoscope, characterized by comprising an acidic aqueoussolution of pH 1 to 5 which contains a dye in an intermediate or cold hue andat least one kind of acid selected from the group consisting of a carboxylicacid, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid. By spraying theabove-described diagnostic agent onto the inner wall of a digestive organ in aninspection through an endoscope, a lesion site that can hardly specified can beclearly monitored. This agent is particularly suitable for monitoring a lesionsite having cancer cells in the stomach or the Barrett’s esophagus.
