Introduction Antenna beam-forming is largely confined to stationary base stations that combine electromagnetic signals from array antenna elements to form a desired output. The array antenna suppresses signals in certain directions while amplifying signals from certain directions. One major reason that multiple antenna elements are less advantageous on mobile handsets is the additional power and weight needed for the signal processing. Description of Technology This technology enables a three antenna wireless mobile station. It can increase power reception in the direction of the desired signal while simultaneously minimizing signals in the direction of interference. Analytically derived solutions of radiated electromagnetic fields are used to achieve the design goals of maximizing and minimizing reception in different directions simultaneously.
