Printable Magnetic Field Sensors
- 技術優勢
- ΓÇó Transparency. Printed magnetic field sensors can be fabricated to be transparent, giving them the ability to be integrated with applications requiring transparency. ΓÇó Flexibility. Printed magnetic sensors can be fabricated on flexible substrates, such as plastic. Having flexibility lets the sensors be used in applications that require non-planar surfaces. ΓÇó No size or shape restrictions. Most commercially available magnetic field sensors are only a few square millimeters and are housed in integrated circuit packaging. Conversely, printed magnetic field sensors can be as large or small as needed depending on the application and multiple sensors can be fabricated on a single substrate. ΓÇó Low Power Consumption. The electrical resistance of printed magnetic field sensors can be amplified by increasing the aspect ratio of the sensor. Higher resistances lead to lower power consumption as well as higher signal to noise ratios. ΓÇó High magnetic field saturation values. Experiments have shown that printed magnetic field sensors have a much higher saturation magnetic field than most commercially available magnetic sensors. This leads to higher signal to noise ratios as well as enables the sensors to be used in applications that require the distinction between very strong magnetic fields.ΓÇó Low Cost. The fabrication cost of printed magnetic field sensors can be significantly lower than silicon based sensors. Lower sensor cost will give designers the luxury of incorporating more sensors in their applications.
- 技術應用
- Printed magnetic sensors can be integrated into many applications. Key areas include the automobile, consumer electronics, hardware, appliance, industrial control, security, and printing industries.ΓÇó Example Applications1. Electronics (Input devices, Magnetic push/pressure sensitive buttons) 2. Electronic Printed Media (Store displays, Greeting cards, Calendars, Board games) 3. Position Sensors (Industrial Control applications, Security system integration)
