In recent years, lanthanum hydroxide (La (OH) 3) material has been widely applied in areas such as heterogeneous catalysis, materials, hydrogen storage materials, electrode materials, and superconducting materials. Its performance largely depends on particle size, aggregation, pore volume and surface area, and these factors are closely linked with the materials and preparation method. It is well known that high specific surface area is conducive to improving the catalytic activity of lanthanum hydroxide nano-materials. The existing fabrication method of La (OH) 3 material has shortcomings such as severe preparation condition, poor crystallinity and small specific surface area. The invention aims to apply low dielectric propyl alcohol/water mixtures using lanthanum hydroxide precipitation method for the preparation of 1-dimensional La(OH)3 nanorods.

The invention aims to apply low dielectric propyl alcohol/water mixtures using lanthanum hydroxide precipitation method for the preparation of 1-dimensional La(OH)3 nanorods. Techniques such as X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and element analysis (EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) selected area electron diffraction (SAED), and specific surface area measurement were used for characterization of products. The results proved that the length, diameter and surface area of the La(OH)3 nanorods can be easily controlled through this new method.
