High-order filters, capable of increasing the efficiency of converters, depend on advanced control algorithms to reduce multiple resonant frequencies, but that such algorithms often require precise information about the component parameters of the converter’s output filters. To capture the parameters, CityU researchers have developed an online parameter estimation method. The estimator provides a controller with actual values of the components so that the entire system can be optimally controlled.
