The technology complements the on-chip monitoring of cellular reactions by exposing cells, isolated in a sandbag structure, to different concentrations of analytes or drugs in a one-step operation. The tapering microchannel structure controls the concentration and dosage of the analytes. Another major feature of the invention is the dual sandbag structure that permits simultaneous testing of the reactions of two sets of cells with the same drug at the same concentration.
