Biogenic amines are common biomarkers of certain diseases and contaminants. The purpose of this invention is to develop low-cost and easy-to-use molecular sensors for detecting biological amines. The proposed sensors are sensitive to vapors released by putrid foods. They can also detect the presence of biogenic amines in fluids.
