Auto-Calibration Method for a Projector-Camera System

We have developed a method for automatic calibration of an active vision system which consists of a DLP projector and a color CCD camera. The projector projects a bundle of structured light on objects and the camera records the reflected light as an image. The image is then used to calibrate the system automatically and to obtain three-dimensional information of the object surface. The calibration method is useful for developing a vision system with on-line adjustable configurations.
