Luminescent Gold (III) Compounds, Their Preparation, and Light-Emitting Devices Containing Same
- The growing of flat panel displays market has attracted considerable attention in connection with the development of electroluminescent materials.
The present invention is related to a new class of luminescent gold (III) compounds. The invention also contains the preparation method of this new class of compound and mentions about the light-emitting devices (OLEDs) containing these compounds. Luminescent gold (III) compounds can be used as OLEDs, wherein different colors can be obtained by adjusting the applied DC voltage or the dopant concentration of the compounds. It is the novel technology where one single emissive dopant can generate different emission colors, which is very rare in conventional single light-emitting material. The use of such compounds as light-emitting material in OLEDs can provide electroluminescence with high efficiency and brightness. Different multilayer OLEDs have been fabricated using the compounds of the present invention as light-emitting material or as dopant in the emitting layer.
