A Method of Assessment of Tumor Microenvironment Immune Activity
The merits of this technology represent an advantageous opportunity to stratify patients with regard to prognoses and with regard to the value of immunotherapies.
Using the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), gene expression data was analyzed to determine the immune function signature of an isolated cancer sample. Such signatures were found to provide a basis for correlations with prognosis or for moreconvenient indications of treatment options. This type of data can potentially indicate the extent of an anti-tumor immune response or tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) could be available for further exvivo amplification and subsequent therapy. The merits of this technology represent an advantageous opportunity to stratify patients with regard toprognoses and with regard to the value of immunotherapies.
