- *Abstract
-
This innovation is a technique to produce high quality nanodiamond-containing ceramics using a cold sintering process in cobination with salt-assisted ultrasonic deaggregation to uniformly disperse single digit diamond nanoparticles in a ceramic matrix. This method provides an effective approach to homogeneous agglomerate-free composites while avoiding graphitization and preserving diamond structure of the filler nanoparticles. The resulting nanodiamond-ceramic composites provide improved mechanical properties and high density typical of the ceramic materials.
