University of MissouriOffice of Technology Management & Industry RelationsNon-Confidential Abstract of InventionUM Disclosure No. 16UMC066Nanoparticles with Nonlinear Optical Properties as Photoacoustic Imaging Contrast AgentsPulsed photoacoustic devices have received significant attention because they are non-ionizing, do not require biomarkers, and can deliver real-time scans with extremely high resolution. In the present technology, optimized nano-materials are created that exhibit nonlinear absorbance properties under nanosecond laser stimulation. These nanoparticles with enhanced photoacoustic properties are also created using green synthesis methods. An efficient method to produce superior photoacoustic materials will give the technology holder a significant competitive advantage.POTENTIAL AREAS OF APPLICATIONS:• Non-destructive Testing for Structures• Tissue ImagingMAIN ADVANTAGES OF INVENTION:• Larger photoacoustic signal per unit of materialSTATE OF DEVELOPMENT:• Patent Application in Work LICENSING POTENTIAL:• University seeks licensee with the potential to commercializeINVENTOR(S):• Luis Polo-Parada• Gary A.
