Method for the Separation of Proteins from Grain Flour

Description of Technology This invention provides a method of separating protein from grain flour for the purpose of using the protein solution to make film that is edible and biodegradable. The protein extraction process involves treatment of the flour with a solvent, pH adjustment, centrifugation, precipitation of the starch, concentrating the protein solution, and combining it with a plasticizer to make a film forming solution that is processed further to make a film.
