This technology provides for a hyperspectral Raman imaging system with the ability to focus an excitation laser beam over a wide field of view by using a combination of a microlens array and dual-axis controlled dielectric filtration. This new device overcomes many of the shortcomings of other Raman spectroscopic imaging instruments, and in particular, it offers a very low-cost alternative with much faster image processing times.Applications may be considered for quality control in production of carbon nanotubes, pharmaceutical products, and semiconductor manufacturing. Non-dilutive funding has been secured for exploring the analysis of kidney stones and dental enamel integrity.US patent application 14/600,603 titled "Hyperspectral Raman system and methods for imaging of materials" was published on July 23, 2015 as US 2015/0204789 A1.
