Microlayered polymer matrix structures of composite film and dispersed high aspect ratio glass particles to form barrier structures to inhibit gas diffusion. Useful in electronics packaging, as well as in the (foods) packaging industry to improve properties of polymer films and in preventing ingress of oxygen, carbon dioxide, water, or organic vapors. US 8,318,300 B2 issued on Nov. 27, 2012 as "Diffusion barrier for electronic display devices."
