- *Abstract
-
In prior-art, the use of drug carriers for improving the drug delivery is well known. However, only few carriers are capable of delivering hydrophobic drugs effectively. Moreover, the drug encapsulation procedures used by such carriers, especially for hydrophobic drugs, are highly cumbersome. In addition, some of the commonly used drug delivery carriers such as liposomes are highly toxic in nature, capable of inducing kidney damage (s). This invention relates to a novel and efficient hydrophobic drug carrier comprising self-assembled amphiphilic peptide nanoparticles, capable of overcoming prior-art limitations and/or addressing unmet needs.
