*Abstract
This is a new method of using oxidative stress as a biomarker for neurodegenerative diseases. The technology analyzes early oxidative modifications-protein disulfide formation-in histological samples. In particular, this technology allows detection of oxidation of specific protein targets in specific cell sub-types (i.e. neurons vs. glia). Therefore, it provides an invaluable tool to study and define new potential biomarkers to develop new clinical tools for neurodegenerative diseases.
