This technology fulfills a need for an improved robot attachment which allows a remote-controlled robot to open doors easily and quickly. Its self-aligning feature assures secure gripping of doorknobs of any type, minimizing operatorΓÇÖs frustrations and unintended property damages. It is designed to fit currently available robot models, thus it also provides a cost-effective way to upgrade the functionality of existing robots.

*Abstract

The University of North Dakota is actively seeking companies to commercialize a new and improved robot gripper attachment. Unlike existing technologies, the proprietary design of this attachment allows for the opening of doorknobs in a more precise, expeditious manner, and does not require a large space to operate.
