CityU researchers have developed an efficient thermoelectric modular design for converting heat energy into electrical power. The team aims to identify high-performance thermoelectric materials and to minimize cost. A new nanomaterial is developed for the said purpose. Thermoelectric materials can be improved through nanostructuring, which includes superlattices, quantum dots, nanowires, and nanocomposites.
