This invention relates to a self-adaptive dual-loop phased source (SDPS) array equipped with a phase detector array (PDA), which is inserted between the output and input of the phased source array to form a dual-phase locked loop (PLL) structure. One loop is for frequency locking and the other loop is for phase locking, resulting in continuous automatic phase calibration from 0° to 360° among elements of the antenna array. The real-time feedback loops can automatically adjust the phase shift and perform continuous analog phase shift at low frequency to realize the beamforming at high frequency. The novel source array may even provide a potential solution to beam-scanning for the Tera-Hz communication system.
