The Topological Design Tool (TDT) is a custom-build Java application intended to prepare, process and import existing geographical data, or simulates such data, and deal with external numerical packages. The package optimizes node placement and interconnections based on network resource allocation requirements. With graphical user interfaces for visualization and analysis of the results, users can review cost summaries, view network image for any layer and produce an overall report of the proposed topology.
